First I’d like to offer you a brief introduction. I am Jack O’Connor,
President of Commencement Photos, Inc. We are a New England based commencement
photography company, established in 1974, having experience in the school
photography business for 33 years and 25 years in the commencement business. We
are very familiar with, and respectful of, the safeguards a school
administrator must preserve as well as the concerns of students and parents.
Our company photographs each graduate upon conferral of their diploma. We
accomplish our purpose without encumbering upon the ceremony. (Please see some

Some of the positive effects our presence has at graduation:

Diminishes the number of family members crowding the stage and blocking the
aisles, as well as the view of other guests;

Assures guests who are uncomfortable using a camera that a professional is

CPI has spent many years perfecting our commencement photography. We use
experienced photographers who attend a clinic every year. They use a 50 point
check off list at every graduation. Through the use of site diagrams our
photographers arrive at the ceremony equipped with a comprehensive computerized
information sheet. All the logistics of the ceremony are mapped out including
time, flow of graduates, where to place camera, etc. We have over 50
photographers on staff to ensure every graduation is covered professionally and
often the same photographers attend the same graduations year after year. Each
photographer has to be personally approved by the owners.
We have a custom designed computer system that helps ensure accuracy for
identification of every graduate that crosses the stage and a complete history
of order information pertaining to each individual student.
The photograph is just the tip of the iceberg. The skill in identification,
processing orders quickly and accurately, and providing customer service year
round are skills that all have to be fine tuned. The reason being, you can
never recapture that special moment. Our system works, we have over 25 years
experience to back it up and many satisfied customers.
